Having fun while learning about the NSW Government

Australia Awards Cambodia scholars and alumni joined other Australia Awards scholars and alumni from 17 countries to participate in a series of seminars conducted by the New South Wales government over two months. The participants discussed current issues such as COVID19 and climate change policy.

The Seminar Series, in its fourth year, moved to virtual delivery this year due to COVID19 allowing more extensive participation than in previous years. The online format didn’t stop participants from learning a great deal more about NSW Government systems and policies, participating in in-depth discussions and establishing extensive networking opportunities with fellow participants, guest speakers and facilitators.

The closing celebration of the 2020 NSW Government Seminar Series included a challenging quiz based on issues discussed over the five seminars and sharing details and photos of each participating country’s’ food specialties (including of course Vegemite!!).

Pisal Khom, an alumna who holds a Masters degree in Health Management from the UNSW said, “I had a great experience participating in these online seminars. I learned that technology enables us to have such a fruitful meeting which saves the traveling time and also connects people from different parts of the world.”
