Returning for Cambodia’s Development – Panhary Soeu

I’m grateful for my Australia Awards Scholarship, which brought me to one of the most prestigious universities in Australia. I’m so excited about completing my Master of Development Studies and looking forward to returning home.

Overcoming a language challenge, adapting to a new academic environment, and learning to work in an international context involving colleagues from various backgrounds, were significant highlights of my time in Australia. It wasn’t always easy, but supportive family, friends, lecturers, colleagues, and supervisors helped me to get through.

I now consider Australia my second home that has evoked a lot of bittersweet memories of my academic life, professional life, and friendships. I’ll remember every moment that happened here and capture them my heart.

When returning to Cambodia, the first thing that comes to my mind is food. I really miss Cambodian food. Besides, reuniting with my family and friends will be the most exciting part.
