Finally, I’m graduating with a Master of Social Policy from the University of Melbourne, the most highly-ranked university in Australia. I’m so grateful to the Australian Government and Australia Awards Cambodia for the valuable experience I gained and for helping me to realise my dream of pursuing higher education in Australia.
All the knowledge, skills, and experience I gained have helped me build my self-confidence and interpersonal skill and become a critical thinker. I encourage all other Cambodian women to apply for this scholarship because it will make a difference in their personal and professional lives.
I love Australia. I had such a good time in Australia. I was happy to get to know Cambodian Australians, Australians and other international students. A highlight was my travel to Tasmania to visit my former teacher whom I’d known for ten years before I came to Australia and make a new friend there.
I’ll miss everyone in Australia, people, places, and the university, who have always been supportive and whom I had a good time with. All those memories will be cherished and remembered. We’ll stayed connected.
I’m so excited to meet my family, parents, and all my relatives and friends in Cambodia as I’ve missed them for over a year. I’m also missing my home and Khmer food. Although I’m lucky to stay around Springvale and have some Khmer food, I’m longing for other foods.
