Returning for Cambodia’s Development – Ky Mengly

I feel thankful and nostalgic at the same time as I think back on my Australia Awards Scholarship experience. The past 2 years have gone by so quickly, but they were genuinely life-changing experiences that will continue to shape me personally and professionally.

I’ll always remember my summer break in Melbourne, when I moved beyond my comfort zone to appreciate the city’s dynamic life and diverse cultures. It taught me so much about urban life and adapting to new environments—lessons I’ll carry with me as I move forward.

I’ll dearly miss several aspects of Australia. The serene environment around my school, perfect for reflection and study, especially those stunning sunsets. The personalised learning and mentorship I received, which highlighted the importance of nurturing individual growth. And, of course, the amazing friends I’ve made here.

I’m excited to be going back to Cambodia now! I can’t wait to reunite with my family and contribute to our country’s development, especially in enhancing education with digital technology. Thank you, Australia Awards, for this life-changing opportunity. I couldn’t have done it without your complete support.
