Returning for Cambodia’s Development – Soth Sonen

I feel accomplished and grateful as I wrap up my Australia Awards Scholarship and head back to Cambodia!

I’ll always cherish the experiences and friendships I’ve gained in Australia, especially those memorable moments with fellow awardees whether on a road trip to the Hunter Valley or at my home and my amazing Australian housemate.

I’ll miss the serene walks around Hyde Park and the Sydney Opera House— walking became a daily routine, with Sydney’s scenic trails and vibrant atmosphere holding a special place in my heart. Not to mention the incredible brunch and coffee culture in Australia.

But I’m equally excited about getting back to my roots, enjoying traditional Cambodian street food, and my grandma’s home-cooked meals. Ready to bring my new skills and knowledge to contribute positively back home!
