Returning for Cambodia’s Development – Kao Sopheap

As my Australia Awards Scholarship comes to an end and I get ready to head back to Cambodia, I’ve mixed feelings. My experience studying in Australia has been life-changing, and I’m incredibly appreciative of this wonderful chance. While I’m delighted to reunite with my loved ones and contribute to my home nation, I’ll miss the experiences and connections I’ve had here.

 

Being a part of a diverse student community at a world-class university was the best of my time spent in Australia. This improved my educational experience and had a big impact on my career development. I’ll always cherish the amazing experiences I had while traveling cross-country and experiencing Australia’s dynamic culture.

 

I’ll deeply miss the scenic views from road trips, including the breathtaking natural wonders, rainforests, and coastal and mountain landscapes. The serene public parks in Canberra, where I often took my daughter to play after school, hold a special place in my heart. These experiences have created lasting memories for both of us.

 

I’m eager to contribute my new skills and knowledge to Cambodia’s development and visit my hometown, enjoying my favorite local foods, and exploring our beautiful country. A road trip around Cambodia is on my list!
