I feel a mix of excitement, accomplishment and anticipation at the prospect of completing my Australia Awards Scholarship and returning to Cambodia.

It’s been enlightening and transformational to engage with professionals and peers in my master’s degree in digital communication at QUT, leading to the completion of my master’s thesis: “Examining Cambodia’s National Branding in the Context of Destination Branding from a Digital Communication Perspective: The Influence of Travel YouTube Vlogs.”

I’ll miss Australia’s distinctive landscapes and breathtaking natural surroundings, especially the camping areas in Tasmania and Queensland. During semester holidays, we used the campervan on road trips for many days. I’ll also really treasure and miss the friendships and connections I’ve formed with folks from different origins.

I’m eager to get back to my dear family and friends in Cambodia and taste my favorite Cambodian foods, such as the real fish amok and Num Banh Chok. I’m excited about contributing to national branding research. Engaging with professionals and local communities to exchange ideas and work together on projects that can improve Cambodia’s reputation abroad also excites me.
