Returning for Cambodia’s Development – Lim Amrin

I’m thankful to the Australia Awards Scholarships from the Australian Government for allowing me to pursue a Master of Public Policy and Management at one of Australia’s finest universities. The scholarship has offered unmatched academic and personal support and ensured that I receive the greatest possible degree. I’m in awe of how far I’ve gone on this trip and feel empowered to give back to my nation.

 

One of my favorite times to be away from home is right now. The training taught me a lot of academic and practical skills necessary for my future work in the public sector. The opportunity to engage in real-world case studies and challenges while exploring popular tourist destinations in Victoria, Canberra, and Sydney.

 

I’ll miss the challenges and experiences of studying at the University of Melbourne’s Parkville campus, which provided me with valuable knowledge and lessons. My road trips provided me with stunning landscapes and memorable experiences, particularly Melbourne’s “four seasons in one day”. The rich coffee culture of Melbourne will last a lifetime.

 

I’m excited to spend time with my loved ones again and give my expertise to the Ministry of Commerce, where I work. Reuniting my mother, sister, brother, and friends—who have always encouraged me on this important journey—excites me so much.
