I’m optimistic that the knowledge and skills I acquired through my master’s degree will greatly help me in my future professional endeavours and further the growth of my nation. I’m very proud of my academic achievements. Despite the course’s challenges, I managed to meet my academic goals and even win a study tournament that sent me to Canada—a very eye-opening experience.

The Australia Awards Scholarship gave me more than just the chance to study; it also helped me connect with other scholars throughout the world who share my interests and have taught me a lot. Apart from my professional and academic growth, I’ve found personal fulfillment during my stay in Australia. I got the opportunity to do a lot of things on my bucket list that I might not have done otherwise, such as ice skating, skydiving, surfing, bungee jumping, and scuba diving.

I’ll miss literally almost everything about Australia, from its vibrant multicultural atmosphere and diverse cuisine to the convenience of taking day trips to regional Victoria using public transport and enjoying fish and chips by the beach. These are experiences that are not readily available in my home country. And as a premier league football fan, I was very excited that I got chances to see those football clubs having friendly tournaments twice in Melbourne. That is something I would definitely love doing again and again.

I can’t wait to use the computer application and finance skills I learned in Australia to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of my job. It’s bittersweet to be leaving Australia, but I’m excited about home-cooked Khmer food, catching up with old friends, and traveling to my two favorite places in Cambodia, Kampot and Siem Reap, which I can’t get enough of.
