Returning for Cambodia’s Development – Pen Sopanha

I’ve always described this opportunity as a life-changing experience, and I’m immensely proud to have been part of it. Earning my Master of Professional Accounting from Monash University was a challenging yet rewarding experience, fostering academic growth and enhancing knowledge and skills. While I’ll miss the stimulating classes, supportive lecturers, and friendships I’ve built here, returning to Cambodia is equally exciting.

 

Australia has significantly impacted my personal growth, particularly in Melbourne, where the vibrant multicultural scene, diverse cuisines, and rich coffee culture have fostered my independence and self-assurance.

 

Leaving Melbourne will be bittersweet, though. I’ll miss the comfort and familiarity of my home here, the ease of getting around, and the exceptional education I received. Australia will be missed for its stunning landscapes, laid-back attitude, and the sense of adventure it instilled in me.

 

But Cambodia is calling. I can’t wait to find my way back home and have delicious food that I’ve been missing. Most importantly, I’m looking forward to putting my knowledge to work, giving back to Cambodian society, and making a positive impact on the future of my country.
