Returning for Cambodia’s Development – Sok Monirattana

I’m deeply grateful to the Australian Awards Scholarships for the opportunity to complete my master’s degree in public policy at the University of Adelaide. The journey has equipped me to actively contribute to Cambodia’s on-going development efforts upon my return.

 

My time in Australia was fundamentally transformative; it helped me develop autonomy and perseverance and made a huge difference in both my academic and personal development.

 

To me, Australian education is renowned for its global standardization, characterised by high-quality measures that exceed my expectations. Australian society embraces multiculturalism, and inclusiveness is one core value that I’ve deeply appreciated and learned from during my time here.

 

I cherish Australia’s green spaces, beaches, festivals, and friendships, but I’m excited to return home to Cambodia, visit Siem Reap and SihanoukVille, and enjoy Cambodian cuisine. I’m eager to apply my Australian education to Cambodia’s development.
