I feel gratitude, pride, and bittersweet emotions for my life-changing journey as a banking regulator, studying in Australia, and witnessing my daughter thrive in Australia’s early childhood education system.
Among the many unforgettable moments, one that stands out is the day we touched a kangaroo together—three generations: my daughter, my mother, and me. These shared experiences, along with the warmth of kind-hearted neighbors, supportive classmates, and the richness of multicultural Australia, have become lifelong treasures.
What I’ll miss most is the peaceful rhythm of everyday life—the crisp morning air, birdsong, and colorful flowers lining our neighborhood streets. I’ll especially cherish our weekend train adventures, discovering new parks with my daughter and mother.
As I prepare to return home, I’m looking forward to reuniting with loved ones, enjoying the flavors of Khmer cuisine—samlor korko, nom banh chok, and amok trei—and reconnecting with the cultural and natural treasures of Cambodia. Most of all, I’m ready to give back, applying all that I’ve learned to serve the National Bank of Cambodia with purpose and dedication.
