I feel proud and grateful for the journey as an Australia Awards scholar. The support, from pre-departure training to the on-award enrichment program, helped me grow academically and personally. I return to Cambodia with confidence, a global perspective, and a strong commitment to advancing gender equality and women’s leadership.
A standout moment was joining a video podcast with Professor Hugh White, hosted by the Australian Institute of International Affairs. Engaging with such a respected figure affirmed my voice as an advocate. Receiving a surprise certificate of appreciation from AIIA reminded me that my contributions matter—and that people are listening.
Australia became a second home. I’ll miss the safety, clean environment, fresh food, and how people respect nature and diversity. Most of all, I’m grateful for the supportive community and visa conditions that helped us build a meaningful life.
Now, I look forward to reuniting with my family in our fishing village and sharing a home-cooked meal. I’m ready to give back, using what I’ve learned to support Cambodia’s development, especially through inclusive policymaking and empowering young women leaders.
