Australian alumna Rang Sokha is concerned about the disproportionate impact climate is having on rural women in Cambodia.
Her research project looks at how climate change affects women farmers and what practical measures, like gender sensitive training, better local support, and improved farming methods and policies, help them cope with droughts, floods, and other shocks.
Rang Sokha’s research shows how climate change hits women farmers hardest. With skills gained in Australia and a focus on gender sensitive training, she helps communities adapt, protect livelihoods, and spread practical solutions across Cambodia.
Sokha obtained a Master’s in Environmental Policy and Management from the University of Adelaide in 2013 under an Australia Awards Scholarship.
Watch her story to learn how policy, training, and local support can make a real difference.

Australia Awards Cambodia is managed by Tetra Tech International Development, on behalf of the Australian Government.
