Embracing a New Beginning

Today, I am deeply grateful to share that I have been selected as one of the recipients of the Australia Awards Scholarship Intake 2026.

This achievement did not come easily, and it was never a journey I walked alone. It would not have been possible without the constant support, encouragement, and belief from my family, friends, mentors, and many kind souls behind the scenes. I feel incredibly blessed to be surrounded by people whose intentions have always been pure, those who genuinely want nothing but to see me grow and succeed. This girl will make sure to dance in the rain and enjoy the ride from now on.

Through failures and setbacks in the previous attempts of applying for this scholarship, I learned some of the most important lessons of my life:

“Never give up on your dreams and always pursue things with purpose.”

“It’s okay to fail, what matters is learning from your mistakes and moving forward.”

“Finding a motivation to keep you forward is hard but staying disciplined is harder.”

“Effort never betrays us.”

Lastly, my deepest gratitude goes to the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Australia Awards, Australia Awards Cambodia, Australian Embassy, Cambodia and the Ambassador of Australia to Cambodia H.E Derek Yip for this life-changing opportunity and for supporting my ambition to specialize in data analytics, data science, and technology, a field that Cambodia really needs for its future development.

It is truly an honor to represent Cambodian youth and to be part of a growing community of women in tech. This is not just a personal milestone, but a new beginning and the one that I hope will allow me to give back, create impact, and inspire others to believe that persistence truly pays off.

PS: Though this moment comes with mixed emotions of excitement, gratitude, and also a sense of heaviness given the current situation in my country, I carry Cambodia with me wherever I go. This journey is not about leaving, but about learning, growing, and returning stronger to contribute in meaningful ways.
