Welcoming home Cambodia’s latest changemakers

My journey in Australia has been a truly valuable experience. As I prepare to return home, I feel very grateful to the Australia Awards Scholarships for giving me the chance to study in a safe, supportive, and world-class learning environment.

This experience has helped me grow both professionally and personally. Through my studies, research, and clinical placement at Flinders Medical Centre, I gained new knowledge and practical skills in rehabilitation. I also had the chance to learn from international classmates, which gave me new perspectives and a deeper understanding of rehabilitation in different settings.

One of the most meaningful parts of this journey was realising that rehabilitation is not only about treatment, but also about helping people with disability live more independently and participate fully in their communities. This has strengthened my commitment to contributing to better rehabilitation services in Cambodia.

When I return home, I hope to apply what I’ve learned to support people with disability and help improve rehabilitation care in Cambodia.
