Toward Climate Change Solutions: A New Academic Journey at Melbourne

New year, new journey! To my friends, partners, and communities who always support me and my career.

I will be leaving Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Cambodia to begin a new academic journey in Australia. I have received an Australia Awards Scholarship to pursue a master’s in Environment, specializing in climate change, at The University of Melbourne. I am deeply grateful to the University of Melbourne for recognizing my experience and already granting me 100 credit points. I have truly loved my time and the missions at KAS Cambodia; this workplace has brought out the best in me.

Thank you to all my colleagues, leaders, mentors, and collaborators on KAS sustainability projects, including Waste Summit Cambodia, Clean Energy Fellowship, Synergy for Sustainability – Koh Sdach, Sustainable Business Alliance – SBA, and Local Waste Ambassador. I am proud of the projects’ progress and the teamwork with our partners. Special thanks to EnergyLab Asia, the Composted WM organization, Oxfam in Cambodia, the relevant ministries, local authorities, businesses and many other development agencies for their belief in our work and collaborations. Last but not least, to all my amazing comms-team and volunteers who supported and inspired me for new way to deliver my work! I can’t wait to share more about my wonderful successor with you soon!

Friends, though I will be away, my commitment remains strong. The world faces many uncertainties including war, political shifts, biodiversity loss, and global warming. I believe we can, together, build sustainable ways to live, work, and do business by enhancing dialogues, creating holistic solutions, and fostering effective collaborations. I look forward to a year in Australia, where I can get inspired, bring in my creativity, deepen my understanding, and open new doors for my communities and me to innovative solutions, ideas, and tools in these shared efforts.
