Welcoming home Cambodia’s latest changemakers – Sarin Lina

Australia Awards Scholarships made my dream of studying in Australia possible, and it also changed the way I think, learn, and lead. Over the past two years at ANU, I learned to embrace new ideas, work through challenges, and turn learning into practical solutions.

 

One of the most meaningful parts of my journey was seeing how my studies could be applied to real-world problems. I was especially proud to receive an opportunity from the Advanced Instrumentation and Technology Centre (AITC) to help commercialise a business solution developed by my team. I also completed a research internship through the Australian National University Internship Program, where I explored how trade support and export development could strengthen Cambodia’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

 

These experiences taught me that innovation is about listening, testing, learning, and improving. As I return to Cambodia, I hope to use these skills to support entrepreneurs, encourage innovation, and contribute to sustainable growth.
